美国蓝带汇点高中艺术课程教师Keith Hall将于6月3日在上海市虹口区东大名路687号2楼举办个人展——揭开面纱。

基思·霍尔(Keith Hall)于2004年毕业于伦敦金史密斯大学，获得了美术/纺织学士学位，在发展自己的绘画技巧和风格方面拥有20年的经验。他的作品总是在不断发展，因为他喜欢尝试不同的材料并在画作上做标记。他目前在上海生活和工作，拥有自己的艺术工作室，并在国际高中担任艺术和设计老师。

Keith Hall graduated from Goldsmiths University in London with a B.A Honors in Fine Art/Textiles in 2004 and has twenty years of experience developing his own techniques and style in painting. His work is always evolving as he does like to experiment with different materials and mark making on his paintings. He currently lives and works in Shanghai. He has his own art studio and works as an art and design teacher at an international high school.

基思喜欢尝试颜色和纹理，因此在他的作品中添加了金箔银箔，突出了可以补充周围色彩的部分和凸起区域。他还使用纺织品和其他材料来创建带纹理的表面。色彩在画布上泛滥，使复杂细节区域更加生动。

He likes to experiment with colour and textures, so adding gold and silver leaf to his work, highlights sections and raised areas which complement the surrounding colours. He also uses textiles and other materials within his paintings to create a textured surface; colours wash across canvas, enlivening areas of complex detail.

揭开面纱

基思的作品《静态游牧民族》于2019年在《上海文学评论》年度刊物上发表。他的作品已被美国，欧洲，亚洲各地藏家收藏。

Keith's work ‘Static Nomad’ was featured in the yearly publication of the Shanghai Literary Review, in 2019. His works have been sold to collectors in America, Europe, Asia.

华人营造美术馆荣幸地宣布，2020年5月23日至6月27日期间将举办“揭开面纱“艺术家Keith Hall&Maxime Drouet双个展。本次展览将展出两位艺术家不同媒介下的抽象作品，原始的抽象画通过动画在数字媒体中进行解释，又通过操纵原始画进行印刷以创建有趣的数字抽象形式。

Sino Art Space is pleased to announce to hold “ Piercing The Veil " double solo exhibition of Keith Hall &Maxime Drouet during 23rd May 2020 to 27th June 2020. The exhibition will feature the abstract art by two artists in different media forms, where original abstract paintings are interpreted in digital media through animation, and then printed by manipulating the original paintings to create intriguing digital abstract forms.

可以说抽象的视觉外观是受我们意识的哲学概念启发，因此需要大量的创意投入才能实现同样的创意输出。随着数字艺术的可能性不断增长，这两位艺术家几乎不可避免地发生碰撞，创造出视觉刺激的盛宴。

It could be said that visual appearance in abstraction is inspired by the philosophical concepts of our consciousness, thus requiring intense creative input to achieve equally creative output. As the possibilities of digital art keep growing, it was almost inevitable that these two artists collided to create their gourmet of visual stimulation for the senses.

PIERCING THE VEIL 揭开面纱

Keith’s work is a process completely organic and spontaneous. What emerges on the canvas is an internal language that is highly emotional and personal. His use of colour and texture is striking; he uses a variety of techniques to get his desired result and is not afraid to experiment. Keith’s paintings are like landscapes viewed from great heights: areas of colour and texture arranged like expanses of scenery, full of tone and character, with colours washing across planes, enlivened with areas of complex detail. And yet, his painting can also be viewed as cityscapes: full of tonal depth and areas of intricate detail that invite the viewer, drawing them seductively into imagined space.

“I believe that everything has another side, visible or not, and for me drawing is thinking, and painting is feeling. Therefore, I draw what I think, and paint what I feel. As there is no feeling without thinking, there is also no painting without drawing. There are times when I feel more comfortable calling my works painted drawings rather than just paintings.”

“People often say, 'I could never do anything artistic.' I’ve found that with technology, I can create work that I could have never imagined. Each piece has its own narrative, and in conjunction with Keith’s work, such as the layering of colour or the interplay of light, it produces images that capture the essence within Keith’s paintings. My work is not to produce a single unifying narrative, but instead to encourage the viewer to conjure their own supplementary tales – either lived or imagined.”
